In June of 1961, I left all that I knew, hopped an Air Force plane and landed in San Antonio Texas--Lackland AFB would be my home for the next few weeks (it only seemed like an eternity)

As I struggled thru basic, I took some kind of "test" which I didn't understand,and subsequently received a communication indicating I was going to Goodfellow AFB to be a "Non Morse Intercept Operator"--(guess I flunked out on the Morse part). By the time I graduated from basic, I got orders for Keesler AFB Mississippi to go to Morse Intercept School--Go Figure

After six or so months of drumming dits and dahs into my head, and trying like crazy to teach me to touch type (Yeah! Right!) somebody decided I was ready to face
